For the Exekra browser extension for Chrome and Microsoft Edge, version 2.2. Effective November 2, 2026.
Looking for Exekra's main privacy policy?How we handle information from exekra.com, the customer portal and sales.What it handles, when you ask
- The page element you pick
- A preview of a table you pick
- A screenshot of an element, for an image target
- Your clicks, typing and page addresses while recording
What it never does
- Send anything to Exekra or anyone else
- Record passwords, card details or one-time codes
- Run on a page you have not started picking or recording on
- Use analytics, telemetry, advertising or remote code
1.What the extension is
Exekra Element Selector is a browser extension that works with Exekra Studio, a desktop application for building automations. It lets a person building an automation pick elements on a web page and record the steps they take in the browser, and sends those to Exekra Studio running on the same computer. It does nothing on its own: without Exekra Studio it reads and sends nothing.
2.What the extension handles
Only when the person using Exekra Studio asks it to pick an element, pick a table or record, and only in the browser tab where they do so, the extension reads:
- the element they pick: its tag, id, classes, attributes, a short piece of its text, and the selectors that identify it;
- for a table, its structure and a preview of up to a few rows of its text;
- when they choose an image target, a screenshot of that element;
- while recording, each click, typed value, dropdown choice and page address, with the page's title.
3.Passwords and other secrets
Values typed into password fields, and fields that a site marks as card numbers, card security codes or one-time codes, or whose names identify them as PINs, passwords or security codes, are replaced with a placeholder before they leave the page. Their contents are never recorded.
4.Where it goes
Everything the extension handles is sent to Exekra Studio on the same computer, through the browser's native messaging to a program installed with Studio, which passes it to Studio over a channel that only the same Windows user, in the same session, can open. It is not sent to Exekra or to anyone else. The extension makes no network connections at all: it has no analytics, telemetry, advertising, error reporting or remotely loaded code.
What Studio does with it is part of the automation the person is building, and is governed by their organisation's use of Exekra Studio.
5.What the extension stores
- In the browser's session storage, until the browser closes: which tab is being recorded, and the last page address recorded.
- For up to five minutes, in memory only: picks and recorded steps made while Studio was briefly unreachable, so they are not lost.
Nothing else is kept. Removing the extension deletes all of it.
6.Sharing and sale
The extension does not sell, share or transfer any data, and does not use it for any purpose other than the one described above. Its use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
7.Changes to this policy
If a version of the extension changes what it handles, this page is updated before that version is published, and the date above changes with it.
